The Alpha Phi Chapter was established on April 1, 2006 at the University of Southern California, becoming the first chapter of La Unidad Latina, ΛΥΛ Fraternity, Inc. on the West Coast. With the support of LUL alumni from Cornell, Yale, and other East Coast-based institutions, ten USC student leaders spearheaded LUL’s expansion in an attempt to formally unite undergrads who sought to maximize their time academically, socially, and professionally at USC. Five years later, USC’s Alpha Phi Chapter helped establish LUL’s first chapter in Northern California at the University of California, Berkeley in 2011.

Alumni are invested in the academic and professional success of our undergrads. With USC and UC Berkeley acting as anchors for Hermanos in Southern California and the Bay Area, alumni chapters have been established in Los Angeles and San Francisco to bring together Hermanos who reside in the State of California.

Nationally, our Hermanos are located in the largest metropolitan areas across the United States, including New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., Miami, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston, and San Francisco.
